Be the first to venture into the eerie darkness of the Silver King Mine, explore the deep shafts at the Sable Antelope Mine, or investigate the magic limestone landscape of the Chanyungwe Caves with promises of pre-historic discoveries yet to be made. Unveiling the many secrets of the Mumbwa Heritage Sites will take a lot of exploration, planning and efforts - influenced by you! By joining the first phase of our volunteer programme you will be treading in the footsteps of the first explorers in Africa.

In the weekends, you can choose from a wide range of activities. Due to the proximity to the Kafue National Park, safari tours to various parts of the park can be organised regularly. Additionally, the area around Mumbwa has a rich variety of hot springs and other geological sites worth visiting.
The volunteer camp is located approximately 30 kilometres north of Mumbwa, a basic but cosy town, with connections to the rest of Zambia, including the capital city Lusaka, only 150 kilometres from Mumbwa.
Before or after your field stay, you can choose to do some travelling of your own to include, for instance, the Victoria Falls and other national parks of Zambia. |
