Please contact us with any queries about transport to the Kafue National Park. KNP Promotions can organise transfers by road and/or air to all lodges in the Kafue National Park.

Road
From Lusaka, the southern section of the park is reachable from the Lusaka-Mongu Road. 66 kilometres after Mumbwa, an all-weather graded gravel road turns left to the Lake Itezhi-Tezhi and all the southern lodges. From here it is 115 kilometres to the lake. A couple of lodges, including Mukambi and Kafumba Kwale are reached by continuing on the Lusaka-Mongu Road, branching off just before the Hook Bridge.

From Livingstone, take the Livingstone-Lusaka Road up to Kalomo (126 km) and turn left. Shortly after this take a left turn and travel 80 kilometres to the Ndumdumwense Gate.

To reach the northern section of the park, including Hippo Lodge, McBride's Camp and Lunga Cabins, go through Mumbwa, turning left at the roundabout. This road requires a 4WD in the rainy season. Lodges located centrally in the park, including Lufupa and Kafwala, are reached from the gate just after the Hook Bridge on the Lusaka-Mongu Road. From the Copperbelt in the north, take the road to Solwezi and then Kasempa. After another 98 kilometres on a graded track one reaches the Lunga Pontoon. To reach the northern Kafue gate, take the left turning 16 km before the pontoon. Air
Light aircrafts are available for charter through a handful of companies. There are airstrips at Chunga, Hippo, Lunga, Moshi, Ngoma and Puku Pan camps.
